Send Money

It’s easier than ever to pay friends and family. Simply log on to online or mobile banking and visit the “Send Money” tab. The service is free for Nordstrom FCU members!*

How it works: Using your friend or family member’s email or phone number, you can send them money from your Nordstrom FCU checking account in a few easy steps. They will get their money in a few days and all your transactions are in one place.

Step 1: Log in to the Nordstrom FCU online banking.

Step 2: Click Transfers then Click Send Money and select the correct account number

Step 3: From the "I want to" drop down menu, select "Pay a Person".

Step 4: Enter the dollar amount and the phone number or email address of your friend or family member.

Step 5: Enter a secret word to share with the person you’re sending funds to.

Step 6: Authenticate yourself, click “Submit,” and you’re done!

Transferring money between your accounts has never been easier. Step 4: Enter the dollar amount and information for your other account.

Step 5: Authenticate yourself, click “Submit,” and you’re done!

Starting April 1^st, Zelle has made the decision to only support transfers between financial institutions that are within their own network. Since we do not partner with Zelle, you will not be able to receive payments via Zelle to your Nordstrom FCU account after this date. We understand this change may be inconvenient and frustrating and encourage you to reach out to Zelle with feedback you have regarding the change.

We do want to let you know that we offer our own Person-to-Person option for sending funds to another individual. You are also able to use Venmo, Cash App, and similar apps to receive funds from people who previously did so via Zelle. You may also ask the individuals who currently send you funds reach out to their financial institution for alternative options for safely transferring funds outside Zelle's network.

The Credit Union extensively researches each partnership we enter into. There are several factors that have led us to partner with our current Person-to-Person provider instead of Zelle.  Here are just a few reasons why: 

• • Fraud Risk: Zelle processes payments in real-time, and once a transaction is completed, it’s challenging to reverse. Additionally, Zelle lacks built-in safeguards to verify the recipient of the funds. For instance, with our Person-to-Person payment system, we use a secret word or phrase to confirm that the correct person is receiving the funds. Zelle, on the other hand, does not offer this type of validation; once the payment is sent, the funds are automatically received by the recipient.

• • Lack of Dispute Resolution: Zelle offers limited consumer protection in cases of fraud and disputes, making it difficult to process chargebacks in these situations. As a result, any losses from such incidents would fall on the Credit Union, presenting a significant financial risk for the Credit Union and its members.

Our Person-to-Person transfers come with enhanced security features to ensure your transactions are safe. With these systems, you’re also not limited to sending funds only to members within the Credit Union or within a specific network. You can send money securely to anyone, regardless of where they bank, giving you more flexibility while still maintaining a high level of protection.
